Systems containing less than 200 pounds of refrigerant must be recovered to 0 psig. Systems containing 200 pounds or more must be recovered to 10 inches of mercury (Hg) vacuum. These levels ensure that the maximum practical amount of refrigerant is removed before opening a system for service.
