High-Pressure Equipment & Refrigerants
High-pressure equipment operates with refrigerants that have saturation pressures between 170 and 355 psia at 104°F. The most common high-pressure refrigerants are R-22 (an HCFC), R-410A (an HFC blend of R-32 and R-125), and R-407C (an HFC blend). R-410A operates at approximately 60% higher pressures than R-22, so equipment and components must be rated accordingly.
High-pressure refrigerants have saturation pressures of 170–355 psia at 104°F, and R-410A runs about 60% higher than R-22.
